What does a secure certificate do?
Digital certificates function as electronic credentials that allow secure communications between two parties. Digital certificates help identify user privileges as well as encrypt electronic messages over networks like the Internet, company intranets or extranets. Applications that would benefit from the use of digital certificates include secure e-mail messaging, online trading and credit card purchasing, to name a few.
